The Phenomenon

Born in Leeds, England on July 21, 2000, his father Alf-Inge was on Leeds United's books at the time — before signing for Manchester City later that year. Two decades on, Erling ended up at that same club, and spent his first season there rewriting the Premier League record books.

At 1.95m and built more like a power forward than a traditional No. 9, he scores goals most strikers can't physically reach — bullying center-backs in the box, timing runs behind the last defender, finishing with either foot. 28 goals in 22 matches at Red Bull Salzburg, 86 in 89 for Borussia Dortmund, then 36 in his Premier League debut season — a single-season scoring record that had stood since the league expanded to 38 games.

The Signature Celebration

Yoga Pose

Score a big one, and Haaland doesn't sprint to the corner flag like everyone else — he drops straight to the turf, crosses his legs, and sits there grinning like he's meditating mid-match. It started as a joke between friends and stuck, and now it's the first thing a lot of fans look for the moment the ball hits the net.

He's said himself it's not meant to be deep — just a bit, a way to have fun with a celebration instead of the usual sprint-and-scream. Somehow that's exactly what made it stick: the most physically dominant striker in the world, sitting cross-legged like nothing happened. 🧘‍♂️⚽
