The Phenomenon

He was born in Leeds on July 21, 2000 — his father Alf-Inge was on Leeds United's books at the time, before signing for Manchester City later that year. Two decades later Erling ended up at that same club, and spent his first season there rewriting the Premier League record books.

At 1.95m and built more like a power forward than a traditional No. 9, Haaland scores goals most forwards can't physically reach: bullying center-backs in the box, timing runs behind the last defender, finishing on the move with either foot. He scored 28 goals in 22 matches in his one full season at Red Bull Salzburg, 86 in 89 for Borussia Dortmund, then 36 in his Premier League debut season at City — a single-season scoring record that had stood since the league expanded to 38 games.

Four seasons on, the numbers have only compounded: 117 Premier League goals in 137 games, three Golden Boots, 304 club goals and counting, and a Manchester derby scoring record. Pep Guardiola has gone; Enzo Maresca's rebuilt City still starts and ends with him.

Who runs this site

The Viking Striker is an independent fan site about Erling Haaland, made and run by one fan. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Erling Haaland, Manchester City FC or any league or governing body.

The facts come from public records: match reports, competition data and club announcements. Completed seasons are checked by hand and then locked, so nothing automatic can overwrite them; the season in progress is refreshed by scheduled jobs and checked before it is shown. How this site works has the detail.
